gatavati nakhalekhālakṣyatām aṅgarāge samadadayitapītātāmrabimbādharāṇām
virahavidhuram iṣṭā satsakhīvaṅganānāṃ hṛdayam avalalambe rātrisambhogalakṣmīḥ //

When their cosmetic paste had become visible only by nail-scratches, / and their deep-red bimba lips had been drunk by impassioned lovers, / the splendor of nocturnal enjoyment sustained the women's hearts, / troubled by impending separation, like a dear and faithful female friend.
