athatatra pāṇḍutanayena sadasi vihitaṃ muradviṣaḥ /
mānamasahata na cedipatiḥ paravṛddhimatsari mano hi māninām //

Then the king of Cedi could not endure the honour paid to the Foe of Mura
by the son of Pāṇḍu in that assembly; for the mind of the proud is jealous of another's advancement.
