prabhāta-vātāha''ti-kampitā''kṛtiḥ kumudvatī-reṇu-piśaṅga-vigraham
nirāsa bhṛṅgaṃ kupiteva padminī, na māninī saṃsahate 'nya-saṅgamam.

Its form shaken by the impact of the morning breeze, the day-lotus bed, as if angered, / cast off the bee whose body was yellowed by the pollen of the night-lotus; for a proud woman does not tolerate union with another.
