vilokya saliloccayānadhi-samudramabhraṃlihān bhraman-makara bhīṣaṇaṃ samadhigamya cā 'dhaḥ payaḥ
gamā''gama-sahaṃ drutaṃ kapi-vṛṣāḥ paripraiṣayan gajendra-guru-vikramaṃ taru-mṛgottamaṃ mārutim.

Seeing the masses of water scraping the clouds upon the ocean and perceiving the water below frightful with roving sea-monsters, / the monkey-chiefs swiftly dispatched the son of the Wind, the best of tree-dwellers, capable of going and returning, whose prowess was weighty like an elephant-king's.
