ghariṇīa mahāṇasakammalaggamasimaïlieṇa hattheṇa /
chittaṃ muhaṃ hasijjaï caṃdāvatthaṃ gaaṃ païṇā /

The husband laughs at the housewife’s face, touched by a hand
soiled with soot from the kitchen-work, for it has assumed the phase of the moon.
