yasyā durdharaghoravaktrakuhare viśvakṣaye lakṣyate
kṣubdhābdhāviva lolabālaśapharī kutrāpi lokatrayī .
tāmajñātaviśālakālakalanāṃ taistaiḥ purāṇairapi
prauḍhāṃ dehisamūhamohanamayīṃ kālīṃ karālāṃ numaḥ ..2..

In the cavity of whose unendurable, frightful mouth, at the destruction of the universe, / the three worlds are seen like an agile young fish in an agitated sea; / we praise that mature Kālī, the Karālā, unknown in her vast sweep of time even by diverse ancient lores, / who consists in the bewilderment of all embodied beings.
