2.39

kṛtvā luṇṭhiṃ divasamakhilaṃ bhūribhūrjaprayogair
bhuktvā pītvā niśi bahutaraṃ kumbhakarṇāyamānaḥ .
prātaḥ snānavyatikarakalādambhasambhāvanābhūr
mādyaṃ dāhaṃ nayati diviraḥ śāntimantarjalena ..39..

Having carried out plunder all day long through abundant uses of birch-bark documents, / eating and drinking heavily at night, acting like Kumbhakarṇa, / becoming the ground for honouring the water with the art of morning bath rites, / the clerk quenches his inner burning intoxication with water.
