sāyāsāyāstrilokyāḥ śaraṇamakaruṇakṣuṇṇadaityapravīrā svairaṃ svairaṃśasargairgahanatamamahāmohahārdaṃ harantī |
śasyāśasyādadhānā sakalamabhihitaṃ bhaktibhājaḥ smṛtaiva stādastādabhradoṣā dviṣadupaśamanī sarvataḥ pārvatī vaḥ ||
A refuge for the three worlds in distress, who pitilessly crushed the daitya champions,
who gently, by the creation of her own portions, dispels the deeply impenetrable, great delusion of the heart,
who is to be praised, who, merely remembered, fulfills all that is desired by the devoted,
may Pārvatī, who has cast off immense defects and who quells enemies, be yours on every side! (39)
O Devī, whose newly-fashioned, fresh praises are regarded with respect by the gods,
who are to be approached with eager care to banish the multiple fears arising from worldly existence:
I bow with a bow to your two feet, whose graceful movement is a play of dance, yet I am never sated. (40)
