śamīha te samānato vibhāvito'trasanna yaḥ |
vibhāvito'tra sannayaḥ śamīhate sa mānataḥ ||
He who is bowed before you in this world, untrembling and tranquil,
perceived here as one whose conduct is good, strives after peace out of reverence. 65.
O Devī, he who is properly bowed to you, who, not trembling, not being afraid in this transmigratory cycle, has not gone hence into the all-pervading divine Brahman named Vāsudeva—that is, has not reached liberation—being peaceful, with senses conquered, having prudent conduct, recognized here in this transmigratory cycle, he strives, exerts himself out of knowledge. The sense is: he who, being attached to the cycle of existence, has not taken refuge in Lord Viṣṇu, even he, if bowed to you, possessing good conduct, tranquil and having attained knowledge, attains the universe. 65.
