"These forbearances destroy wrath; they are pure and unshakable; and that lofty man who, desired by the virtuous, constantly cultivates them, is dear to you." || 99
O Devī, these forbearances—meaning you yourself, who are those celebrated acts of patience that destroy pride. What sort of forbearances? "Destroying wrath," [that is,] destructive of anger. Likewise, "pure and unshakable," [meaning] true and untroubled, excellent and superior. That lofty, eminent person who, desired by the virtuous—employed in an auspicious way—constantly and unceasingly cultivates and adopts those forbearances, is devoted and pleasing to you through his devotion. || 99
