[Girdle-rhyme (kāñcīyamaka):]
May that Devī protect you! She who bears a face that causes weariness to the moon—by the extraordinary splendor of her own complexion she bestows weariness, a paleness, upon the moon—bearing such a face; likewise, [in the Devīśataka,]
she is like the sun in dispelling inner delusion, darkness of the heart; as the sun is skilled at destroying darkness, so the Devī is intent on removing the darkness of the heart, such is the meaning; likewise, that Devī, free from reproach, blameless, on the field of battle, the ground of combat, challenged the enemy who had imprisoned the gods, called him forth for battle, such is the meaning. Because it binds like a girdle (kāñcī), it is a girdle-rhyme. The meter is Jaladharamālā. (35)

May [the Devī] be in your favored desire, O praised one; unconquered, she conquered the unmeasured [foes];
through Jayā, the birthless one, mankind, free from rebirth, gained ample strength. (36)
