When the lordly enemy of the gods, Mahiṣa, was slain, may the words thus spoken by the Daughter of the Himālaya, Pārvatī, who was overcome with modesty, protect you. “O Vāsuki, this Mount Mandara, Mahiṣa who resembles Mount Mandara, has been thrown into the ocean; let him be wound around once more by you. O Tārkṣya, Garuḍa, be delighted, be sated with this Mahiṣa. What need have you to feed on serpents that are as tender as lotus fibers? Indra’s elephant, Airāvata, together with the eight lordly world-elephants, cannot drag this Mahiṣa away!”

“This one was the burner of the triad of cities; this Nṛsiṃha was the render of the enemy’s chest;
this lord of the realm of the pole was the slayer of Tvaṣṭṛ’s offspring”—pointing out these diverse
incredible deeds of the lords of heaven who had fled in the battle filled with Diti’s sons
and then gathered with a desire to celebrate—may Pārvatī, who has slain her foe, protect you! ||60
