"O simple girl, do not thus repeatedly cast, do not throw, your mass of hair with the beauty of your lotus hand, which is suitable for a quarrel during lovemaking and the like with other women when a lover's fault is caught." May the goddess Bhavānī protect you, who with her heel frees from his life-breaths that Mahiṣa, the lord of those evil enemies of the gods, the Daityas, whose body was firm, whose speech was thus inwardly corrupted by cunning.
“Even now the child born of the Lord delights in the sport of dust-play with the Moon-Holder in battle; / the elephant-faced one with sharp tusks, though agitated by the rut of his own trunk, has also grown calm. / Shame on you! Where are you going?” Slaying with her left heel that evil Dānava bearing a buffalo's body, / who spoke with flashing pride and whose joy in his body was gladdened, may the Mountain's Daughter protect you.
