āgamiṣyaty adhīrgheṇety3 āśālabdhaṃ yad īpsitam |
tad artham eva tān arthān ye svīcakruḥ parān api ||214||

For the sake of that very desire gained through hope that "He will come before long", / for the sake of which they accepted even other goals;
