dustyajaś cānurāgo 'smin sarveṣāṃ no vrajaukasām |
yaḥ sajjan kāliyakroḍaṃ vrajaṃ sajjantam āmtani |
nanda te tanaye 'smāsu tasyāpy autpattikaḥ katham? ||1461

'And this deep affection toward him is hard to abandon for all of us dwellers of Vraja; / O Nanda, when you were being held in the lap of Kāliya, Vraja was sinking into grief— / how is it that he too has such natural affection toward us?'
