strīvadhenaiva sadṛśaṃ brahmasvaharaṇena ca /
sarvapāpātmakaṃ santo bhaktatyāgaṃ pracakṣate //
Equal to the slaying of a woman and the theft of a brahmin's property, / the abandonment of a devotee is declared by the virtuous to comprise all sins."
