āścaryaśabdo nāsmāsu dhanyaśabdo 'pi vā mune
āścaryaṃ paramaṃ viṣṇuḥ sa hy asmākaṃ parā gatiḥ //
The word ‘wonder’ does not apply to us, nor indeed the word ‘fortunate,’ O sage.
Viṣṇu is the supreme wonder, for he is our ultimate goal.
