tataḥ kadā cid duḥkhena ratham ūhus turaṃgamāḥ
paṅkabhūtaṃ hi timiraṃ sparśād vijñāyate 'nagha //

Then at one point the horses bore the chariot with difficulty, / for the darkness, turned to mud, could be felt by touch, O sinless one.
