janamejaya uvāca
eṣaṃ vilulite loke manuṣyāḥ kena pālitāḥ
nivatsyanti kimācārāḥ kimāhāravihāriṇaḥ //
Janamejaya said:
In a world thus tossed about, protected by whom will men live?
What will be their conduct, and what their food and pastimes?
