yo niṣṭvā ca pitṝn śrāddhaiḥ kriyāḥ kāścit kariṣyati
rākṣasā dānavā nāgāḥ phalaṃ prāpsyanti tasya tat //
‘Whoever performs rites without sacrificing to the ancestors through ancestral offerings, / the rākṣasas, dānavas, and nāgas shall obtain that fruit of his.
