vedān adhītya dīkṣābhir maharṣīn brahmacaryayā
śrāddhaiś ca medhyaiḥ śataśas tarpayanti pitāmahān //
Having studied the Vedas, with consecrations [they gratify] the great seers through chaste studentship, / and with hundreds of pure ancestral rites they gratify the ancestors.
