vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
te śrutvā pṛthivīvākyaṃ sarva eva divaukasaḥ
tadarthakṛtyaṃ saṃcintya pitāmaham athābruvan //
Vaiśaṃpāyana said:
Having heard the words of the Earth, all the dwellers of heaven / reflected upon what needed to be done for her sake, and then addressed the Grandfather:
