mamāgrato hatā garbhā ye tvayā kālarūpiṇā
kāraṇaṃ tvaṃ na vai putra kṛtānto hy atra kāraṇam //
Devakī said: / “The embryos that were slain before my eyes by you, who took the form of Time— / you were not the cause, my son; Destiny indeed is the cause here.
