71.1

vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
te tu yuktvā rathavaraṃ sarva evāmitaujasaḥ
kṛṣṇena sahitāḥ prāptās tathā saṃkarṣaṇena ca |
asasāda purīṃ rasyāṃ mathurāṃ kaṃsapālitām |
viviśuḥ pūḥpradhānāṃ vai kāle raktadivākare //

Vaiśaṃpāyana said:
Having yoked the excellent chariot, all those of boundless might,
together with Kṛṣṇa and Saṃkarṣaṇa, arrived.
He reached the charming city of Mathurā, protected by Kaṃsa;
they entered that foremost of cities at the hour of the red sun.
