kṛṣṇas tu tena nāgena krīḍitvā śiśunā yathā
nidhanāya matiṃ cakre kaṃsadviṣṭena cetasā //
Having played with that elephant as if with a child, / Kṛṣṇa resolved upon its destruction with a mind full of hostility toward Kaṃsa.
