&bhīmasenaḥ&:
evaṃ vijñāpaya /

yuṣmacchāsanalaṅghanāṃhasi mayā magnena nāma sthitaṃ $ prāptā nāma vigarhaṇā sthitimatāṃ madhye 'nujānāmapi &
krodhollāsitaśoṇitāruṇagadasyocchindataḥ kauravā- ē̃ nadyaikaṃ divasaṃ mamāsi na gururnāhaṃ vidheyastava // 1.12 //

Let me indeed remain plunged in the sin of transgressing your command;
let censure indeed be earned even in the midst of younger brothers who observe propriety;
as I extirpate the Kauravas, my mace reddened with blood flashing forth in rage,
for this one day you are not my elder, nor am I subject to your will! // 1.12
