mā tāvanmama śaramārgalakṣabhūtāḥ
saṃprāptāḥ kṣitipatayaḥ sajīvaśeṣāḥ |
kartavyaṃ raṇaśirasi priyaṃ kurūṇāṃ
draṣṭavyo yadi sa bhaveddhanaṃjayo me || 5 ||

Let those kings who became targets for my path of arrows / not escape with their lives remaining; / what pleases the Kurus must be done at the forefront of battle, / if only that Dhanaṃjaya should be seen by me! || 5
