Karṇa's Burden 8: karṇaḥ

ayaṃ sa kālaḥ kramalabdhaśobhano
guṇaprakarṣo divaso'yamāgataḥ |
nirarthamastraṃ ca mayāhi śikṣitaṃ
punaśca māturvacanena vāritaḥ || 8 ||

This is that time, its splendour attained in due course; / this day has arrived for the display of excellence; / yet the divine weapon was learned by me in vain, / and moreover I have been restrained by my mother's word! || 8
