Does my mind wander in a dream, or is this an illusion? || 82 || (4.19)
(4.149) Vidūṣaka: Sir, do not doubt it! That son of a slave-girl, the magician, certainly said: "The lord must definitely see one more trick of mine!"
(4.150) King: Queen, at your word Sāgarikā was brought out.
(4.151) Vāsavadattā (smiling): Noble lord, I know.
(4.152) Vasubhūti (closely observing Sāgarikā, aside): Bābhravya, she resembles the princess!
(4.153) Bābhravya: Minister, that very thought is in my mind as well!
(4.154) Vasubhūti (pointing to the King): Lord, whence is this girl?
(4.155) King: The Queen knows.
(4.156) Vasubhūti: Queen, whence indeed is this girl?
(4.157) Vāsavadattā: Minister, saying that she had been obtained from the sea, minister Yaugandharāyaṇa placed her in my hand; for that reason she is called Sāgarikā.
(4.158) King (to himself): Placed by Yaugandharāyaṇa? How could he do anything without informing me?
(4.159) Vasubhūti (aside): Bābhravya, just as the pearl necklace on Vasantaka's neck is completely identical, and she was obtained from the ocean, so she is clearly Ratnāvalī, the daughter of the King of Siṃhala. (Approaching, aloud) Long-lived Ratnāvalī, have you come to such a state?
(4.160) Sāgarikā (looking, with tears): What, minister Vasubhūti?
(4.161) Vasubhūti: Alas, wretched and ill-fated, I am ruined! (He falls to the ground.)
(4.162) Sāgarikā (falling upon Vasubhūti): Alas, father! Alas, mother! Where are you? Give me an answer!
(4.163) Vāsavadattā (in agitation): Noble chamberlain, is this my sister Ratnāvalī?
(4.164) Bābhravya: Queen, this is truly she!
