sā śaktirlakṣmaṇatanuṃ viveśāmoghaśaktitaḥ |
yāvantyaḥ śaktayo loke māyāyāḥ sambhavanti hi ||

8--9. Because of its unfailing power, that lance penetrated through the body of Lakshmaṇa. All shaktis in the world are created by Máyá. Their substratum is the great Lakshamaṇa. What can a Máyá shakti then do to him who is the incarnation of Sesa, a portion of the body of Hari.
