bahūni paśyan manaso 'priyāṇi yāny annyadā nāsya pure babhūvuḥ
avākśirā dīnamanā nahṛṣṭaḥ pitur mahātmā praviveśa veśma
His mind oppressed with woe and dread,
Thus Bharat to his driver said,
Viewed the dire signs Ayodhyá showed,
And onward to the palace rode.
