aputrasya gatir nā 'sti svargo nai 'va ca nai 'va ca;
tasmāt putramukhaṃ dṛṣṭvā bhavet paścād dhi tāpasaḥ. || 1 ||

For a childless man there is no salvation, and heaven is not for him at all;
therefore, only after looking upon the face of a son should one become an ascetic. || 1
