1.40

tānīndriyāṇy avikalāni tad eva nāma
sā buddhir apratihatā vacanaṃ tad eva |
arthoṣmaṇā virahitaḥ puruṣaḥ kṣaṇena
so 'py anya eva bhavatīti vicitram etat ||

Those very same sense organs are unimpaired, that same name remains, / that same intellect is unhindered, that same speech is there: / yet stripped of the warmth of wealth, in a single moment / that very same man becomes someone else altogether—how astonishing this is!
