rājan dudhukṣasi yadi kṣiti-dhenum etāṃ
tenādya vatsam iva lokam amuṃ puṣāṇa
tasmiṃś ca samyag aniśaṃ paripoṣyamāṇe
nānā-phalaiḥ phalati kalpalateva bhūmiḥ ||
O king, if you wish to milk this cow that is the earth, / then today nourish this populace like a calf; / and when it is thoroughly nourished day and night, / the earth bears fruit with diverse fruits, like the wishing-tree.
