1.62

vāñchā sajjana-saṅgame para-guṇe prītir gurau namratā
vidyāyāṃ vyasanaṃ sva-yoṣiti ratir lokāpavādād bhayam |
bhaktiḥ śūlini śaktir ātma-damane saṃsarga-muktiḥ khale
yeṣv ete nivasanti nirmala-guṇās tebhyo narebhyo namaḥ ||

Desire for the company of the virtuous, delight in another's virtues, humility before the teacher, / passion for learning, love for one's own wife, fear of public reproach, / devotion to Śūlin, power over self-restraint, freedom from associating with the wicked: / to those men in whom these spotless virtues dwell, homage!
