1.68

prīṇāti yaḥ sucaritaiḥ pitaraṃ sa putro
yad bhartur eva hitam icchati tat kalatram |
tan mitram āpadi sukhe ca sama-kriyaṃ yad
etat trayaṃ jagati puṇya-kṛto labhante ||

He who pleases his father with good conduct is a son; / she who desires only her husband's welfare is a wife; / that which behaves the same in adversity and happiness is a friend: / these three in this world are obtained by those who have performed meritorious deeds.
