nindantu nīti-nipuṇā yadi vā stuvantu
lakṣmīḥ samāviśatu gacchatu vā yatheṣṭham |
adyaiva vā maraṇam astu yugāntare vā
nyāyyāt pathaḥ pravicalanti padaṃ na dhīrāḥ ||

Let experts in worldly wisdom blame or let them praise, / let fortune enter or depart at will, / let death come this very day or at the end of an aeon— / the steadfast do not step aside by a single foot from the righteous path.
