mālatī śirasi jṛmbhaṇaṃ mukhe
candanaṃ vapuṣi kuṅkumāvilam |
vakṣasi priyatamā madālasā
svarga eṣa pariśiṣṭa āgamaḥ ||
Mālatī flowers on the head, a yawn upon the face, / sandalwood on the body mixed with saffron, / the beloved woman upon the chest languid with passion— / this is heaven; the rest is mere tradition.
