Sensual pleasures are transient in nature and of many kinds, and from them alone comes this worldly existence; / then for the sake of what, O people, do you wander about here? Enough with these exertions! / Let the mind, purified by the calming of hundreds of snares of longing, be concentrated / in its own abode, beyond the sway of desire's arising, if our words are to be trusted.
Some are blessed, my friend, whose entanglements in the bonds of worldly existence are broken, / who dwell within the forest, their inner hearts free of the blazing poison of sense objects, / who pass the night delightful with the expansive sky brightened by the autumn moonlight, / taking refuge only in contemplation of the mass of their good deeds.
