1.19

Armlets do not adorn a man, nor pearl necklaces brilliant as the moon,
nor bathing, nor unguents, nor flowers, nor decorated hair;
speech alone adorns a man, provided it is cultivated with refinement;
all ornaments indeed perish constantly; the ornament of speech is the true ornament.
