akṛpaṇamaśaṭhamacapalaṃ yoginamaviṣādinaṃ budhaṃ śūram /
yadi nāśrayati naraṃ śrīḥ śrīreva hi vañcitā bhavati //

If fortune does not resort to a man who is generous, honest, steadfast, / disciplined, free from dejection, wise, and valiant, then fortune herself is deceived.
