akasmādekasmin pathi sakhi mayā yāmunataṭaṃ vrajantyā dṛṣṭo'yaṃ navajaladharaśyāmalatanuḥ /
sa dṛgbhaṅgyā kiṃ vākuruta na hi jāne tata idaṃ mano me vyālolaṃ kvacana gṛhakṛtye na lagate //

Suddenly, friend, on a single path as I was going to the bank of the Yamunā, / he was seen, his body dark as a fresh raincloud. / What did he do with the curve of his glance? I truly do not know; since then, / my restless mind fixes on no household task at all.
