This clever maiden guarding the water-booth does not give water merely / to produce a very thin stream from the vessel by blocking it with her fingertip: / with hand whose fingers are spread wide, slowly protecting your teeth, O traveler, / you too, alas, with upward, unblinking eyes, know how to drink water!
