nādho na cordhvaṃ harati yaddoṣāñchamayatyapi
na cograguṇavīryaṃ tad dravyaṃ saṃśamanaṃ viduḥ
That substance which expels neither downward nor upward, yet pacifies humours / and does not possess ferocious qualities and potency, they know as pacification.
