uttamā dvipalā mātrā mātrābastau tu bhārgava
apastanasyārdhapalaṃ parihāryā niratyayā

Two palas is the maximum dose; but in a retention enema (mātrābasti), O descendant of Bhṛgu,
for a child off the breast, half a pala is harmless and free from danger.
