mātṛjaṃ raktamāṃsamedaḥ, pitṛjaṃ majjāsthiretaḥ, satvarajastamoguṇātmakaṃ śarīram
Blood, flesh, and fat come from the mother; marrow, bone, and semen come from the father; the body consists of the qualities of sattva, rajas, and tamas.
