proktaṃ svādu svaccham atyantarucyaṃ pathyaṃ pākyaṃ pācanaṃ pāpahāri /
tṛṣṇāmohadhvaṃsanaṃ cātimedhyaṃ prajñāṃ dhatte vāri bhāgīrathīyam // 9 //

The water of the Bhāgīrathī is stated to be sweet, clear, exceedingly appetising, wholesome, easily digested, digestive, and sin-removing; / it destroys thirst and delusion, is exceptionally beneficial for the intellect, and bestows wisdom. // 9
