tataścākāśamīkṣeta tataḥ paśyati śaṃkaram /
aṣṭottaraśataṃ japtvā tato vai dṛśyate śubham //
one should then look into the sky; then one sees Śaṃkara.
Having recited [the mantra] one hundred and eight times, an auspicious sign is indeed seen.
