iti tīkṣṇaśulbanāgaṃ mākṣikayuktaṃ ca tatkṛtaṃ khoṭam /
tadbhasma ca puṭavidhinā nirvyūḍhaṃ satvarañjakaṃ bhavati //
Thus cast iron, copper, and lead combined with pyrite, and a lump made of that,
its calx thoroughly extracted by the firing method becomes a coloring agent for the metallic essence.
