suvarṇamathavā rūpyaṃ yoge yatra na vidyate /
tatra kāntodbhavaṃ lohaṃ kṣepyaṃ taistatsamaṃ guṇaiḥ //
In whichever formulation gold or silver is not available, / there iron derived from loadstone should be thrown in by them, equal to that in qualities.
